MAURA BEAR
[BENÍTEZ ARELLANO]
I’m a graphic designer and illustrator with a background in industrial design. I started learning on my own and have grown thanks to the people I’ve been lucky to collaborate with.
I love learning, blending techniques, and turning stories into visual systems. My work often reflects my love for food, music, and art—and I especially enjoy projects in those areas.

MY FAV PART
Experiment with textures and colors while learning a lot about typesetting. The FAO Investment Centre supports sustainable agrifood systems worldwide. Having grown up appreciating the complexity and value of food production, contributing to their communications through Studio Malpeso has been especially meaningful.
In these projects, I worked closely with the art director to develop visual identity systems and artwork for conferences, campaigns, and editorial pieces, while also supporting typesetting, layout, and print production.
Below are examples from two key projects: the FAO Investment Centre Annual Review editions from the past two years. We managed every aspect of the editorial process—text formatting, data visualization, artwork creation, layout design, and promotional materials—with a strong focus on clear information hierarchy and visual storytelling.
Working from a consistent visual base gave us structure while allowing space to develop a unique tone and look for each edition. For both years, we created collections of collage-based artwork and vibrant textures that extended across the layout, email banners, social media assets, and printed publication.
